Dr. Michael Filippidis is a Lecturer in Economics at Westminster Business School (University of Westminster) since August 2023. His academic background includes a PhD in Economics from the University of Portsmouth (2023), an MSc in Business Economics, Finance and Banking from the University of Portsmouth (201?), and a Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Cyprus (201?).
His research focuses on energy economics (particularly oil markets), financial economics, environmental economics, supply chain networks, and ESG performance. He also supervises PhD candidates in commodity markets, stock market volatility, and related fields. He is affiliated with the Global Economic Policy Group.
Prior to his current role, he held positions at the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at the University of Portsmouth, the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Sussex, and the International College Portsmouth since 2013.
