Naomi Tromans is a Researcher affiliated with the University of Oxford's Department of Experimental Psychology. She holds a role in the CAMY group, led by Dr. Eleanor Leigh, which is part of the broader TOPIC group. Her work focuses on understanding and treating social anxiety disorder in children and adolescents. Additionally, she contributes to the SURPRISES project at UCL’s AIM Lab, investigating mechanisms to improve cognitive therapy for socially anxious youth through positive surprises and reduced self-focused attention.
Naomi completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Oxford, with a focus on developmental and clinical psychology. During her studies, she collaborated with Dr. Leigh on research exploring how self-focused attention impacts working memory in socially anxious adolescents, potentially linking to educational outcomes. Her broader interests include tailoring interventions to better address developmental and maintenance factors of mental disorders in young people.
