Naomi R Williams (they/them) is an Assistant Professor of Labor History at Rutgers University whose research examines late-capitalism at the end of the 20th century and workers' role in shaping U.S. political economy.
Williams' research interests span multiple interconnected fields:
- Labor and working-class history
- Urban history and politics

Methodologically, Williams centers workers' voices through life histories and testimonials, emphasizing first-person accounts to understand historical developments. Currently, they are revising a book manuscript titled 'Workers United: Race, Labor, and Coalition Building in Deindustrialized America,' which examines the transformation of class identity and politics in the second half of the twentieth century.
Williams was recently featured in a video interview on Mobilizing Ideas, a platform produced by The Center for the Study of Social Movements at the University of Notre Dame, where they discussed their ongoing work and provided commentary on contemporary issues relevant to activists and social movement scholars.
