Naomi Fox is a Lecturer in Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), with a focus on Disease Systems. She holds an Associate position at Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland (BioSS). Her expertise bridges ecology and veterinary science, specializing in climate change impacts on livestock health and sustainability. She completed a BSc (1st) in Zoology from Durham University (2007) and a PhD in Climate Change Impacts on Livestock Parasites from the University of York (2012).
Teaching roles include leading modules on Wildlife Disease Ecology, Climate Change and Animal Health, and Animal Conservation for the Veterinary Epidemiology MSc (Edinburgh) and Applied Animal Science BSc (SRUC). She contributes to program management and lectures on R programming, epidemiology, and statistics.
Research focuses on GHG emissions mitigation, livestock parasite dynamics, and climate adaptation strategies. Key projects include an Integrated Parasite Control Framework for Ruminants (2022–2023), and a UK policy-focused study on agricultural emissions (2023). Her work emphasizes translating research into actionable strategies for resilient farming systems.
Recent publications explore parasitism effects on livestock behavior (2024), GHG mitigation priorities (2023), and climate-driven liver fluke impacts (2020). She advises a PhD student investigating parasitism-GHG linkages and collaborates widely in agricultural sustainability initiatives.
