Her research spans nutritional psychology, public health nutrition, and food behavior, with particular expertise in food insecurity, dietary patterns among vulnerable populations, eye-tracking methodologies in food selection, and celiac disease management. She has led numerous studies examining the impact of socioeconomic status on nutrition, pandemic-related dietary changes, and sustainable food consumption patterns.
Professor Ströbele-Benschop's recent publications reveal a strong interdisciplinary approach, combining nutritional science with psychology, public health, and social determinants of health. Her work frequently employs innovative methodologies including eye-tracking technology and multi-perspective analysis of food shopping behaviors. She has made significant contributions to understanding how environmental factors influence food choices and how dietary interventions can be optimized for different population groups.
She leads a research team comprising Dr. Andreas Bschaden, M.Sc. Anastasia Dieze, M.Sc. Janine Ehret, M.Sc. Gerrit Hummel, and Dr. Anja Simmet, and has established productive collaborations across multiple institutions. Her leadership in the MEGA_kids study demonstrates her commitment to addressing nutritional challenges faced by families living in poverty.
