Nanet Mathiasen is a Senior Advisor, architect, and researcher at Aalborg University's Faculty of Engineering and Science, affiliated with the Department of Construction, Urban and Environmental Engineering and the research group for Universal Design. She holds a PhD in Architecture from the Royal Danish Academy and teaches MSc programs in Universal Design and Lighting Design.

Recent publications examine lighting's impact on dementia care facilities, Nordic light philosophy, empathic healthcare lighting, and olfactory interventions in nursing homes. Key themes include universal design, user needs, and environmental psychology.
Active in research projects like LGR: The light-filled green space (2021–2026) and The role of light when vision changes (2023–2027), she collaborates with institutions including the Velux Foundation and researchers like V. L. Lygum and T. B. Øien.
