Nancy Zeleznik-Le, PhD, serves as Chair and Professor in the departments of Cancer Biology and Medicine at Loyola University Chicago. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms driving MLL leukemias, particularly how oncogenic MLL fusion proteins disrupt normal hematopoietic processes. She employs advanced cellular and molecular techniques to study chromatin regulation and epigenetic dysregulation in cancer.
- Education: BS in Microbiology & Immunology (Ohio State University), PhD in Immunology/Cellular and Molecular Biology (Duke University), Postdoctoral Fellowship (Lineberger Cancer Research Center, UNC-Chapel Hill).
Key research interests include MLL fusion protein biology, hematopoiesis regulation, and chromatin-mediated gene regulation. Her work explores therapeutic strategies targeting epigenetic mechanisms in leukemia, such as DOT1L inhibition and miRNA-mediated pathways.
