Nancy Beth Mock is an Associate Professor of Public Health & Tropical Medicine at Tulane University, with nearly 40 years of professional experience across over 30 countries. Her expertise spans disaster resilience leadership, food security, international health, and post-Katrina recovery initiatives. She currently serves as a senior consultant for organizations including the World Food Program, Food and Agriculture Organization, and Centers for Disease Control.
Dr. Mock holds a DrPH and MPH from Tulane University, along with a BS in Biology from Yale University. She previously directed the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women (2007-2010) and co-founded the Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy at Tulane’s School of Law. Her work includes designing systems like the Famine Early Warning System (FEWSNET) and SMART monitoring framework.
Her research focuses on disaster resilience strategies, nutrition in humanitarian crises, and the integration of relief and development programs. She has developed higher education partnerships to advance global development objectives and sits on the Interagency Technical Working Group on Resilience Measurement.
