Nadia Ahmed is a PhD candidate at Durham University Business School, supervised by Dr. Tyrone Pitsis, Dr. Bettina Becker, and Dr. Paulo Savaget. She holds a dual role as an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and serves as a Seminar Tutor at Durham University. Previously, she was an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies (2014–2020) and a guest lecturer at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET, 2020). She has over nine years of teaching experience across multiple universities in Bangladesh, including Daffodil International University and Eastern University.
Her research focuses on sustainability, exploring how Bangladeshi Ready-Made Garment (RMG) companies balance innovation and operational efficiency to achieve sustainability goals amid global market competition. This contributes to the emerging field of sustainability ambidexterity. Nadia’s academic background includes a BBA and MBA in Management and Human Resource Management from the University of Dhaka, where she also worked as a student advisor.
Her professional achievements include the Dean’s Merit Award (twice), Dean’s Honor Award, and multiple scholarships. She has also contributed to research through a DMP-funded project on trade and investment with the Center for Trade and Investment (CTI), FBS, University of Dhaka (2015).
