Nadejda K. Marinova is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She joined the university in 2012, previously serving as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at USC. Her research focuses on diasporas, Middle East politics, and gender in international relations, with fieldwork in Syria and Lebanon. She holds a PhD from USC (2011) and has authored influential works like her 2017 Oxford University Press book analyzing host-state diaspora utilization.
Marinova has received Wayne State's highest teaching honor (2017 President's Award) and a Humanities Center Fellowship (2016). Her courses span topics like Middle East conflict, migration studies, and comparative politics. She has pioneered research on diaspora diplomacy and transnational political engagement, with case studies across the U.S., Middle East, and Latin America.
