Nada Moumtaz is an Associate Professor of Modern Islam at the Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations at the University of Toronto. She holds a cross-appointment in the Department for the Study of Religion and works at the intersection of anthropology, history, and Islamic legal studies, focusing on the Levant from the 19th to 21st centuries.

- Modern and Contemporary Middle East
- Islam
- Waqf (Islamic endowments)
- Economic anthropology
- Ethnographic, textual, and historical methodologies
