Na Mira is an Assistant Professor at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine. She holds an MFA in New Genres from UCLA and a BFA in Film, Video, and New Media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her practice explores experimental video, moving image installations, and new genres, focusing on animism and perception. She has exhibited globally at venues like the Venice Biennale, Whitney Biennial, and institutions such as the Walker Art Center and LACMA. Her work is represented by Paul Soto Gallery and featured in publications like Artforum and The New York Times. In 2022, her first book of writings, The Book of Na, was published by Wendy’s Subway.
Research interests span interdisciplinary art practices, integrating sculpture, text, and technology to challenge conventional image-making frameworks. Notable projects include Night Vision (2018), Duty Free (2016–2019), and TETRAPHOBIA (2022), which explore themes of visibility, memory, and cultural hybridity. Her work has been supported by grants from the Rauschenberg Foundation and Artadia, among others.
