Assoc. Prof. Dr. NURİ DEMİREL is an academic in the Department of Sociology at Bingöl University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a BSc in Sociology from Selcuk University (1997), an MSc in Social Structure and Social Change from Istanbul University (2004), and a PhD in Sociology from Istanbul University (2009). His academic titles include Associate Professor and former Junior Lecturer (Yrd. Doç. Dr.).
Research interests focus on civil society dynamics, cultural identity, globalization debates, and sociological analysis of human rights. He has authored books such as History Theory Civil Society (2013) and History and Sociological Structure of Kosovo (2016). His recent work includes studies on divorce as a social reality and Kosovo's sociological dynamics.
Prof. Demirel teaches courses like Culture of Democracy, Sociology of Culture, and Political Philosophy. He serves as a referee for Bingöl University Journal of Social Sciences. His academic contributions include supervising master's theses on topics like the Istanbul School in Sociology and girls' education in Bingöl.
