Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nebi Butasım is an Associate Professor of Turkish Islamic Arts History at the Department of Islamic History and Arts, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Bingöl University. He holds a PhD in Art History from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (2016), with a thesis on Ottoman mihrabs in Southeastern Anatolia. His academic career includes roles as Secretary of the Social Sciences Institute at Bingöl University and 8 years of teaching experience in Van Province schools. He became an Associate Professor in 2021.

Research Interests: Focuses on Islamic art and architecture, particularly Ottoman mihrabs, historical Bingöl artifacts, and regional cultural heritage preservation. His work integrates archaeological field studies with historical analysis.
Publications & Projects: Authored 14 peer-reviewed articles, 5 book chapters, and 2 books. Led multiple archaeological projects including the Bingöl Medieval Surface Research (2019-2021) and served as a referee for journals like Bingöl Araştırmaları Dergisi. Presented at international conferences on topics like Alevi-Bektashi rituals' impact on tomb architecture and Hasankeyf mihrab aesthetics.
