Mélanie Seha is a lecturer at Haute Ecole Condorcet (HEPH), specializing in pedagogy and methodology for primary school teacher training.
Her academic credentials include:
- Master's degree in Educational Sciences from Umons (2012)
- Bachelor's degree in Primary Education (2008)
Dr. Seha's research focuses on the intersection of geometry education, teacher cognition, and assessment practices. Her doctoral work examines how future primary school teachers understand the fundamental nature of geometry knowledge and how these understandings influence their teaching approaches and assessment methods. This research addresses a critical gap in mathematics education by connecting epistemological perspectives with practical classroom applications.
With substantial practical experience as a primary school teacher (including three years in positive discrimination schools), she brings valuable real-world insights to her academic work. Since 2012, she has trained prospective primary educators at HEPH while pursuing her doctoral studies under Professor Marc Demeuse and Doctor Natacha Duroisin.
Her professional journey demonstrates a commitment to improving mathematics education through the development of better teacher training approaches that address both theoretical understanding and practical classroom implementation.
