Arnaud Dehon is a researcher and educator at the University of Mons (UMONS) in Belgium, affiliated with the School of Teaching and Training Sciences and the Department of Educational Sciences. Since September 2012, he has served as an assistant to Professor Marc Demeuse, contributing to both teaching and research activities.
Dr. Dehon holds a degree in Educational Sciences (2007) and began his career as a primary school teacher (2004-2007) before transitioning to academic research. His research expertise centers on pedagogy and didactics in French-speaking Belgium, with special emphasis on diagnosing learning difficulties and developing immediate remediation systems. He has led several significant research projects commissioned by the French Community of Belgium, including the development of diagnostic tools for assessing students' mastery of targeted skills at the end of primary education.
From 2010-2012, he conducted FNRS-funded research focused on determining effectiveness indicators in pedagogical systems for initial teacher training. Currently, his research focuses on the development of professional gestures of future teachers and innovative teacher observation methods using computer-based behavior observation tools as part of his ongoing thesis work.
As an educator, Dr. Dehon supervises student projects, internships, and dissertations while providing practical training for agrégés and teaching master's level courses in educational sciences. His work bridges theory and practice in teacher education with direct applications for improving teaching effectiveness and student outcomes in the Belgian educational system.
