My Rafstedt is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Criminology and Sociology of Law. She holds a PhD in Political Science (2023), an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford (2017), and a BA in Politics from the University of York (2014). Her research focuses on reproductive rights, feminist political economy, gender and knowledge production, and intersectionality, with a regional focus on Southern Europe and Latin America.
Her doctoral work examined the gendered effects of labor market deregulation in Spain, analyzing media discourse, regional party politics, and social partner strategies. She was affiliated with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs during her PhD and was a visiting scholar at the University of Valencia (2019–2020). In 2023, she convened the summer course Gender Equality in the Nordic Countries at the University of Oslo's Centre for Gender Research.
Rafstedt is part of the Research group on the Sociology of Law, the MEDRA (Medicalisation of Democratic Rights in the Debate about Abortion) project, and the Global Criminology thematic group. Her work critiques austerity policies' gendered impacts and advocates for equitable labor and social policies.
