Mustapha Braimah serves as an Assistant Professor of Dance at Mount Holyoke College, bringing over twenty years of international artistic experience as a scholar-artist from Ghana since his 2024 appointment.
His academic background includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Ghana, and a Master of Arts (MA) from Ohio University - Athens.
Professor Braimah's research centers on African Dance traditions and Choreography, extending into Dance Education, Performing Arts, and Cultural Studies, where he integrates his Ghanaian heritage with global perspectives to enrich the Department of Dance curriculum.
As a newly appointed faculty member, his work emphasizes cross-cultural artistic exchange and scholarly-practitioner approaches within dance academia.
