Muriel Gugger is a Researcher at the Collection des Cyanobactéries within the Pasteur Institute, Paris. She leads projects on Cyanobacterial bioactive compounds and Evolution of Cyanobacteria, managing a biological resource center with over 750 axenic strains.
Her research explores:
- Cyanobacterial evolution and adaptability
- Genetics of natural product biosynthesis
- Biomineralization mechanisms
- Ecological impacts of cyanotoxins
Recent publications focus on far-red light photoacclimation, ribosomal peptide modifications, and heterocyte development, spanning evolutionary biology, biochemistry, and environmental microbiology. She maintains collaborations for molecular screening and open science initiatives.
