Muhammad Abdul-Ghani

Muhammad Abdul-Ghani is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Trained as a physician-scientist, his research focuses on the pathophysiology, prevention, and treatment of type 2 diabetes.

He has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles and secured sustained NIH/NIDDK funding for his investigations into glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, and therapeutic interventions. Abdul-Ghani's landmark EPIC and QATAR studies influenced American Diabetes Association guidelines supporting combination therapy for newly diagnosed patients.
