Mostak Ahamed

Dr. Mostak Ahamed is an Associate Professor in Finance at the Department of Accounting and Finance, University of Sussex Business School, UK. He holds a PhD in Business and Management from Queen Mary University of London and has taught at Queen Mary, UCL, and London Metropolitan University as a teaching assistant. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, his research focuses on financial development, access to finance, bank and firm performance, and gender pay gaps, using robust econometric techniques and large cross-country panel data.

His research interests span development economics, inclusive finance, bank performance analysis, gender equality in finance, and econometric modeling. He has contributed to journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance, World Development, and Economics Letters, examining topics like corporate investment efficiency, financial inclusion policies, and regulatory impacts on banking stability.

Dr. Ahamed has received recognition including the Research Excellence Award as an emerging scholar and a nomination for the Kanter Rosabeth Moss Kanter International Award.
