Morten Hanefeld Dziegiel is a Clinical Professor at the University of Copenhagen's Department of Clinical Medicine, where he leads research in maternofetal immunohematology. He serves as Chief Physician and Head of the Unit of Immunohaematology at Rigshospitalet's Blood Bank. His academic journey includes medical (cand.med.) and PhD degrees from the University of Copenhagen, with specialist certification in Clinical Immunology.
His research focuses on:
- Feto-maternal alloimmune diseases including gestational alloimmune liver disease (GALD)
- Development of recombinant therapeutic antibodies against malaria and RhD antigens
- Pioneering non-invasive prenatal diagnostics using cell-free fetal DNA
