Christopher A. Tormey

Christopher A. Tormey, MD is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, where he serves as Director of the Transfusion Medicine Service and Director of the Transfusion Medicine Fellowship program. Board certified in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Tormey provides clinical services at Yale-New Haven Hospital and VA Connecticut Healthcare System, specializing in transfusion medicine, laboratory hematology, and coagulation.

Dr. Tormey's educational background includes a BA in Chemistry from the University of Chicago (2000), an MD from New York Medical College (2004), residency at Yale University School of Medicine (2007), and a Clinical Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at Yale (2008).

His research focuses on critical areas in transfusion medicine including alloimmunization to non-ABO antigens, platelet storage lesions, and optimization of hemostasis assays.
