Morehshin Allahyari is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media Art at Stanford University's Department of Art & Art History. An Iranian-Kurdish artist and activist based in the Bay Area, she uses 3D simulation, video, sculpture, and digital fabrication to re-figure myth and history, opposing Western technological colonialism in the MENA region. Her work intersects cultural heritage, feminist and queer studies, and speculative storytelling.

Research Interests: Digital colonialism, 3D printing as resistance, reclamation of marginalized narratives, and transnational feminist practices. Her projects like She Who Sees the Unknown and Material Speculation: ISIS have been exhibited globally, including at the Venice Biennale, Whitney Museum, and MoMA.
