Monica DiLeo

Monica DiLeo is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Hertie School, where she contributes to the KnowLegPo project, a collaborative initiative funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the French National Research Agency (ANR). This project, led by Benjamin Braun (Max Planck Society) and Matthias Thiemann (Sciences Po), investigates central banks’ policymaking challenges in politicized environments.

Research Interests: Monica’s work centers on the intersection of monetary policy, financial supervision, and central bank mandates. She explores how these institutions respond to climate change and economic justice across North American, European, and East Asian contexts. Her expertise spans political economy and institutional analysis, particularly focusing on central banking frameworks.

Background: Before her PhD, Monica worked as a Senior Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She also collaborates with the Grantham Research Institute at LSE, contributing to discussions on sustainable finance and policy.
