Nick Robins

Nick Robins is Professor in Practice (Sustainable Finance) at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment (London School of Economics). As Chair of the Just Transition Finance Lab, he focuses on mobilizing finance for climate action while promoting equitable transitions. His expertise spans central banking, financial regulation, and nature-related risk management.

Robins' research examines how financial systems can align with net-zero goals through prudential regulation, green sovereign bonds, and biodiversity risk integration. His work emphasizes social equity in transitions from fossil fuels to renewable energy systems.

Recent publications analyze climate policy instruments, sovereign debt sustainability, and investor responsibilities in the Global South. Key collaborations include the INSPIRE network and Place-Based Climate Action Network.

He actively engages with policymakers through submissions to the UNFCCC and advisory roles in the Scottish Just Transition Commission. His leadership in co-founding Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker demonstrates practical innovation in sustainable finance.
