Molly Vaughan Prengaman serves as Associate Professor at Boise State University's School of Nursing, where she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses since 2005, including the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) program from its inception.
Her educational credentials include a PhD in Nursing with health policy emphasis from the University of New Mexico (2016), an MS from Idaho State University, and a BS from Boise State University. She maintains board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC).
Research focuses on health policy implementation, rural health disparities, and vulnerable populations including frontier grandparents raising grandchildren. She developed the Nursing Community Apgar Questionnaire (NCAQ) to address rural nurse retention in Critical Access Hospitals and examines public policy impacts on elderly/rural care access. Recent sabbatical research analyzed factors influencing rural RNs' transitions to NP roles.
As Principal Investigator for the NCAQ project, she maintains active collaboration with Boise State's Center for Health Policy and incorporates undergraduate researchers. Community involvement includes volunteer work at Garden City Community Clinic, St. John's Food Bank, and Friendship Feast for the homeless.
