Dr. Deborah M. Lewis is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program at Maryville University's Catherine McAuley School of Nursing. With over 40 years in nursing, she specializes in rural primary care, pediatrics, cardiology, and telehealth practice. She joined Maryville University in January 2023, bringing experience from the University of Texas, Arlington, where she held roles including Clinical Assistant Professor, Assistant Director of the FNP Program, and Chairperson of the Graduate Studies Committee.

As an educator, she emphasizes learner-centered approaches to prepare nurse practitioners for evidence-based care. Her current practice includes operating Balance Family Telehealth, a primary care telehealth service.
