LeAnn Holmes

LeAnn Holmes, DNP, APRN-NP, FAANP, is the Interim Associate Dean for Transformational Practice and Partnerships and Director of the Morehead Center for Nursing Practice at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Nursing. She also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the DNP Program. Her roles span all UNMC campuses, with a primary base in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Research & Grants:

• Focuses on NP residencies, expanding NP care access, and faculty practice.
• Lead investigator (PI) or project director (PD) on grants totaling over $6 million, including the uNParalleled Primary Care NP Fellowship Training Program ($2.7M) and a State-Wide Primary Care NP Residency initiative ($1.58M).

Service & Leadership:

• Clinical provider at Hart & Arndt Family Health and Lincoln Lancaster Co Health.
• Leadership roles in AACN’s Practice Leadership Network, FAANP grant review, and Nebraska Nurse Practitioners committees.

Professional Background: Over 20 years of clinical practice as a family nurse practitioner, transitioning to academia to advance NP education and community care access.
