Molly B. Mayer is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Cincinnati, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She has been with the university since 1987, holding roles including Business Communication Course Coordinator and Internship Director. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati in 1985 and 1986, respectively.
Her research focuses on rhetoric, public address, organizational communication, and business communication, with a strong emphasis on service learning initiatives aligned with UC's community engagement goals. She has received grants such as the 2010 Great Cities * Great Services Grant and was honored as a Turner Scholars Breakfast of Champions recipient in 2012 and 2013.
Mayer teaches courses like Professional Public Speaking, Persuasive Speaking, and Business Communication, consistently receiving high teaching evaluations. She actively contributes to departmental governance, serving on committees such as the Organizational Communication Committee and the School of Communication, Film and Media Studies Steering Committee. Her service extends to university-wide roles, including Campus Guides Docent and participation in recruitment efforts.
