Mary Schuster holds an M.Sc. (1993) and B.Sc. (1989) in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati and Cleveland State University, respectively. She has served as an Adjunct Instructor and later as a Fields Service/Educator in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati since 1998. Her roles included course coordination for courses like College Algebra, Calculus, and Elementary Probability & Statistics, and she chaired multiple departmental committees.
Key service activities include organizing the Mathematics Learning Center (2005-2014), leading online teaching strategy workshops, and participating in initiatives like the Ohio Mathematics Initiative. She has presented at conferences on topics such as ALEKS impact on STEM performance, online hybrid class communication, and calculus teaching methods.
Recipient of multiple teaching awards including the Breakfast of Champions Award (2006, 2009) and recognition for contributions to the Emerging Ethnic Engineers program. She has engaged in extensive professional development, completing 17 graduate-level courses in statistics and research methodologies, and participated in over 20 teaching technology workshops.
