Moira Weigel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Harvard University and a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. She holds a Ph.D. from Yale University’s joint program in Comparative Literature and Film and Media Studies. Her research focuses on digital media in a global context, examining networked labor, identity, and persuasion. Currently, she studies transnational e-commerce entrepreneurs on Amazon’s third-party marketplace.
She earned her Ph.D. at Yale University and previously served as a Junior Fellow at Harvard and a Sociotechnical Security Fellow at Data & Society. Her work bridges academia and public discourse, with contributions to outlets like The New York Times, The Guardian, and LOGIC magazine, which she co-founded.
