Diana Freed is a Research Fellow at Harvard University's Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Starting in 2024, she will assume the role of Assistant Professor at Brown University’s Department of Computer Science and Data Science Institute. Her work focuses on technology’s societal impact, particularly in enhancing online safety for marginalized groups through interdisciplinary research.
She holds degrees from NYU and Columbia University. Her research bridges security/privacy, human-computer interaction, and policy advocacy, addressing challenges like digital literacy, behavioral health, and ethical AI governance. Key contributions include frameworks for mitigating tech-driven risks faced by survivors of domestic violence and youth.
