Jeannette Estruth is a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. Her research focuses on the intersection of social movements, technology industry history, and economic culture, particularly in the context of Silicon Valley activism and modern American politics. She holds a doctorate in History from New York University (2018) and has conducted extensive research supported by institutions such as the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Huntington Library. Her work has been published in outlets including the Washington Post, Business History Review, and California History.
Estruth’s current book manuscript, Think Different: Silicon Valley Activism and the Making of Modern American Politics, examines the historical dynamics between technology, activism, and political culture. Previously, she served as an American Historical Association Jameson Fellow at the Library of Congress (2021–2022) and worked at Harvard University Press and the Radical History Review.
Her research has been recognized with awards and fellowships, including a finalist position for the Herman E. Krooss Prize in Business History. She has also engaged with interdisciplinary projects at the Berkman Klein Center, addressing topics like governance of technology and media democracy.
