Ifeoma Ajunwa is the AI.Humanity Professor of Law and Ethics and Founding Director of the AI and the Law Program at Emory University School of Law (since 2024). She also serves as Associate Dean for Projects and Partnerships at Emory Law. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Cornell University’s ILR School (2017–2024) and a Faculty Associate at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center since 2017. She holds a J.D./Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University.
Her research focuses on AI ethics, privacy, and discrimination in workplace technologies. She has testified before Congress and the EEOC, advising on algorithmic bias and automated hiring systems. Awards include the NSF CAREER Award (2019), Derrick A. Bell Award (2018), and Fulbright Scholar (2022–2023).
Key publications include The Quantified Worker (Cambridge UP, 2023) and articles in Yale Law Journal, Georgetown Law Journal, and California Law Review. She founded the Labor Tech Research Network and contributes to media outlets like New York Times, Wired, and Harvard Business Review.
