Mohapradeep Mohan

Mohapradeep Mohan is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at King's College London's Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within the School of Academic Psychiatry, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, where he has worked since February 2022.

His academic credentials include:

His research adopts a multidisciplinary approach at the cardiovascular-psychiatry interface, investigating pathophysiological mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases in psychotic disorder patients and developing targeted treatments. As an applied health researcher, he specializes in clinical trials, Big Data analytics, multicentre observational studies, and global mental health programs in low- and middle-income countries. Core interests span Cardiovascular Diseases, Severe Mental Illness, Rare Diseases, Global Health, Metabolic Disorders, Precision Medicine, and Neuropsychiatry.

He served as Programme Manager for the NIHR Global Health Group: Warwick-India-Canada (WIC) and Principal Investigator for the MRET-REMODEL trial, which first demonstrated metformin's efficacy in reducing left ventricular hypertrophy among high-risk cardiovascular patients.

Mohan contributes to the Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology Research Team (CIPPRT), focusing on medication-related suicidality, Patient Centered Outcome Measures (PCOMs) development, and rare diseases including Rett syndrome and mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS).
