Mohammed K. Ali, MD, MSc, MBA, is the William H. Foege Distinguished Professor of Global Health at Emory University. He serves as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and Co-Director of the Emory Global Diabetes Research Center, with leadership roles in the NIH-funded Georgia Center for Diabetes Translation Research and the CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation.

His research focuses on global diabetes prevention, implementation science, and health systems optimization. He leads large cohort studies (CARRS Cohort), quality improvement trials (INDEPENDENT, CoCoHD), and scale-up initiatives (INDIA-WORKS, I-TREC) across the US, India, Pakistan, Mexico, and sub-Saharan Africa.
His scientific accolades include the Rhodes Scholarship, National Academy of Medicine committee membership, and recognition from WHO and CDC Foundation. He has authored 22+ publications in journals like BMJ Global Health, JAMA, Nature Human Behavior, and The Lancet, spanning diabetes care models, health equity, and digital health interventions.
