Mohammad Islam

Mohammad Islam is a Lecturer in Business and Management (HRM) at the University of Sunderland since January 2024. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Wales, MSc in HRM from King’s College London, and a PhD in Management Studies from Newcastle University. His expertise spans HRM, digitalisation, strategic management, and ethics/sustainability. Research focuses on AI’s impact on HR functions and employment relations, particularly in Industry 4.0 contexts. He teaches modules like Organisational Development, Research Methods, and Managing the Employment Relationship. His 2023 article in Technological Forecasting & Social Change proposes a framework for AI-augmented HRM. Awards include HEA Fellowship and CMBE certification. Active in teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development across undergraduate/postgraduate programs.
