Mohammad Dadashipour is a Lecturer in Biotechnology at Teesside University's School of Science, Health and Sport (SHLS). His research focuses on enzyme and protein biotechnology, particularly in industrial applications, circular economy, and biomanufacturing. He leads modules in advanced bioprocessing and enzymatic catalysis, emphasizing practical training and student supervision.
Education: PhD in Biotechnology (2011) from Japan, specializing in enzyme engineering. Notable research includes discovering thermostable millipede enzymes for pharmaceutical synthesis and developing nucleotide-sugar enzymes for therapeutic antibody production. His work spans postdoctoral roles at Kyushu University and Queen's University Belfast.
Research interests include hydroxynitrile lyases, protein solubility enhancement, and directed evolution strategies. He has secured grants totaling over $15 million in Japan and holds patents related to enzyme engineering. Current projects involve chitinase discovery and glycoengineering for vaccine development.
