معرفی
Dr. Mohammad Asad is a Research Fellow in Structural Engineering at QUT's School of Civil & Environmental Engineering. He leads an ARC Discovery Project ($415,000) addressing vehicular crash mitigation into masonry buildings using novel materials like auxetics. His expertise spans structural engineering, masonry behavior, and advanced composites. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at Aligarh Muslim University (India).
Education: PhD in Civil Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Teaching focuses on concrete and masonry structures, structural analysis, and mechanics of materials.
Research interests include impact mechanics, seismic behavior of masonry, auxetic materials, and finite element modeling. He has supervised numerous undergraduate theses since 2017 and contributed to revising Australian masonry design standards based on his experimental and numerical studies.
Key achievements include pioneering work on auxetic composites for energy absorption and developing novel mitigation strategies for vehicular impacts. His research bridges experimental testing, computational simulations, and material innovation to enhance structural resilience against extreme loads.
