Mo Bankey is a Core Candidate Assistant Professor and Chair of the Buddhism-Informed Contemplative Counseling concentration at Naropa University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and long-time Buddhist practitioner, Mo serves as a Counselor Educator, Clinician, Maitri Retreat Director, Meditation Instructor, and Supervisor in the MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

Mo's clinical and research work integrates Buddhist psychology with contemporary mental health practices, focusing on trauma, chronic illness, grief, and LGBTQIA+ populations. Their approach emphasizes social justice and contemplative methods across diverse settings including community mental health, eldercare, reproductive healthcare, and private practice. This interdisciplinary work bridges Eastern contemplative traditions with Western counseling frameworks.
