Lisa Wallace serves as a Visiting Instructor at Naropa University, teaching across the MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Buddhism-Informed Contemplative Counseling program, BA Interdisciplinary Studies, and BA Psychology Online programs.
Her academic credentials include a BA in Religious Studies and BFA in Film Production from the University of Colorado Boulder, followed by an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology from Naropa University.
Wallace's work centers on integrating contemplative practices with clinical counseling, emphasizing Buddhist psychology applications in gender-affirming care, trauma therapy, and social justice advocacy. Her research explores political theology through a queer and anti-racist lens, leveraging mindfulness to address systemic inequities while fostering community resilience through earth-connected healing practices.
As Clinical Supervisor for Internship and instructor of specialized courses including Trauma Informed Care and Maitri: Working with Emotions, she mentors students in therapeutic techniques. Certified in EMDR, Level I IFS, and WPATH gender-affirming care protocols, Wallace combines clinical expertise with mindfulness training from Naropa University and Inward Bound to support LGBTQIA+ clients.
