Mitchell Cowan

Mitchell Cowan is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University's Faculty of Science and Technology, affiliated with the Research Institute for Environment and Livelihoods. Concurrently, he serves as a research associate at the University of Western Australia. His research, supported by the NESP Resilient Landscapes Hub, focuses on spatial conservation prioritization in Kakadu National Park and wet-season burning outcomes.

Dr. Cowan specializes in wildlife ecology with emphasis on:

• Movement and disturbance ecology of mammals, particularly northern quolls
• Conservation technique development
• Fire ecology and landscape management
• Endangered species recovery in mining-impacted regions
