Miriam Goldstein is Professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she earned her Ph.D. Her research specializes in medieval Judeo-Arabic texts, with particular emphasis on interreligious dynamics in the medieval Arabic-speaking world and Judeo-Arabic biblical exegesis. She maintains active research projects on Karaite scholarship and parody literature.
Her scholarly focus includes:
- Analysis of Judeo-Arabic Bible commentary traditions
- Interfaith relations in medieval Islamic societies
- Critical study of the Toledot Yeshu narratives
- Karaite exegetical methodologies
- Comparative analysis of medieval Arabic and Persian literary authorship
She currently directs the research project 'Parodies on the Life of Jesus in Yemen: Towards the Origins and Development of the Toledot Yeshu Literature' (Israel Science Foundation Grant 2063/22) and is preparing a critical edition of the 10th-century Judeo-Arabic Genesis commentary by Ya‘qub al-Qirqisani.
