Mirhan Damir is a Lecturer at Alexandria University, Egypt, with a Ph.D. in Monument Preservation and Building History from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. She has academic experience in Egypt, Germany, and Jordan, and is actively involved in international heritage initiatives.
Her research interests focus on industrial heritage, particularly in Egypt and the Middle East, examining historical, urban, and architectural dimensions under global and colonial influences. She has contributed to programs such as the international master’s in 'Revitalization of Historic City Districts' and the MHFL Project on modern industrial heritage conservation.
The recent publications and presentations by Mirhan Damir reflect a strong thematic focus on industrial requalification, colonial legacies in architecture, and glocal strategies for heritage sharing. Her work bridges academic research with policy and public engagement in industrial heritage conservation.
