Dr. Mira Mousa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Khalifa University. She is affiliated with the Center for Biotechnology Research and serves as Deputy Program Manager of the Biomedical Science Discovery (BISDI) Program, contributing to the Emirati Reference Genome Project.
Education:
- PhD in Genetic Epidemiology of Women's Reproductive Health, University of Oxford
- MSc in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine, University College London
- BSc in Biomedical Science and Pre-Clinical Health Sciences, University of Central Florida
Research Interests:
- Investigating genotypic-phenotypic interactions in disease pathogenesis
- Early diagnosis and drug development through biomarker identification
- Women’s reproductive health, metabolic disorders, and infectious diseases
- Application of multi-omics and bioinformatics in public health

- Leading the MAR’A Project (Middle Eastern Women Research Association)
- Contributing to UAE genome characterization for personalized medicine
- Advancing P4 (Predictive, Preventative, Personalized, Participatory) medical practices for diabetes
- Studying endothelial cell dysfunction in diabetes-related cardiovascular complications
