Mingliu Chen

Mingliu Chen is an Assistant Professor in Operations Management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. Previously, he served as a Lecturer in Discipline and Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University's Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Department. He holds a PhD in Decision Sciences from Duke University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

His research focuses on market design, mechanism design, operations-finance interface, revenue management, and applied probability. Notable work includes optimizing on-demand delivery systems, dynamic contracts under moral hazard, and emergency service facility reliability. He teaches courses in advanced statistics, managerial decision-making under uncertainty, and business analytics.

Teaching experience spans institutions including UTD, Columbia, and Duke, covering optimization models, probability, and business analytics. His research has been published in top journals like Management Science and Operations Research, with multiple working papers under review or invited for conferences.
