Milovan Fustic holds appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary's Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment, and as Associate Professor at Nazarbayev University's School of Mining and Geosciences. His research spans sedimentology, petroleum geology, sedimentary basins, reservoir engineering, and exploration geophysics, with emphasis on reservoir characterization and carbon sequestration.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on sedimentary systems, reservoir modeling, and energy resources, particularly in Kazakhstan and Canada. Recent work explores uranium deposit modeling, CO2 storage potential, geothermal energy assessments, and microbial-enhanced oil recovery. Notable contributions include studies of McMurray Formation sedimentology and innovative approaches to in-situ resource development.
Dr. Fustic received the Medal of Merit from the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (2013) for outstanding contributions to petroleum geology literature.
He directs research on petroleum systems, sedimentary basin analysis, and sustainable resource extraction, with field studies spanning Kazakhstan, Canada, and Denmark.
