Milan R. Nikolic

Milan R. Nikolic is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, within the Department of Biochemistry. Born on September 28, 1971, he holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Belgrade (2010). His academic career spans over two decades, progressing from Junior Expert Associate (1996) to his current position since 2021. His research focuses on biochemistry of colored proteins, drug mechanisms, and applications of algal proteins in food technology and cellular agriculture.

Key projects include investigating algal proteins for food coloring (2022-2024, funded by ANSO) and developing algal extracts for cell media in meat cultivation (2023-2026, funded by the Good Food Institute). He has authored significant publications in journals like Algal Res., Pharmaceuticals, and International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
