Mike Roettger

Dr. Mike Roettger is a Senior Lecturer in Demography at The Australian National University's School of Demography, affiliated with The Population Lab (Poplab). He previously held faculty positions at Bowling Green State University, the University of Colorado, and Penn State University in the U.S. His research focuses on the long-term societal and health impacts of parental incarceration, gene-environment interactions, and inequality in crime and punishment. Roettger specializes in longitudinal data analysis and behavioral intervention trials, publishing in sociology, epidemiology, and criminology journals.

Education: B.S. in Math & Economics from Tennessee Technological University, A.M. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
